Making sense of Big Data

Filed under: Uncategorized — David Strom @ 1:20 pm

Companies everywhere are making use of Big Data tools and analytics to help them become more agile at their business, listen and interact with their customers, and provide new products and services. I write frequently about the Big Data issues for Slashdot and ReadWriteWeb, among other places.

My current speech on the subject:

  • StampedeCon speech (August 2012, St. Louis).  Big Data does come from all corners of the globe and  there are some fascinating examples of where it is being used by companies today. In my keynote for StampedeCon,  I review some of these case studies pulled from some of the articles that I and my colleagues in the IT trade press have been writing about over the past several months.  (Slide deck, blogging coverage, additional coverage)

Slashdot articles. Slashdot began a microsite called Slash/BI that examines business intelligence and Big Data issues. Here are a few of my articles.
